The Old Kuopio Museum

An old-time block of wooden buildings in the centre of Kuopio.
Open: In the winter season 1 Sep-14 May Tue-Fri 10 am-3 pm, Sat-Sun 10 am-4 pm, Mon closed. In the summer season 15 May - 31 Aug Tue-Sun 10 am- 5 pm, Mon closed.
Closed 6 Dec, 24-25 Dec, 1 Jan, 6 Jan, at Easter, 1 May, at Midsummer. Open 26 Dec 10am-4pm.
Admission: € 4/3, children under 18 yrs.

Services: Location.

The buildings contain interiors of different kinds of family homes and workshops from the 19th century to the 1930s. There is also a chemist's shop and a room that used to belong to Minna Canth, a prominent Finnish female writer. The area has a delightful cafe.
