A number of rare species of bird breed on the lake, which also provides a resting place for migratory birds. KAAVI: The River Vaikkojoki The River Vaikkojoki in Kaavi offers exhilarating experiences to canoeists and anglers, and you can also shoot the rapids on a guided trip. Pumpulikirkko is in fact a gorge-like natural tear in the rock that widens towards the bottom forming a square surrounded by sheer-rising rock walls. On one of the walls there is a big pothole.
