Boats greeting each other with cheerful toots in the harbour and on the open lakes create a merry summer atmosphere. During the high season, over 20 cruises depart from the Passenger Harbour.

The fleet of Lakeland Lines Ltd / Kuopio Roll Cruises Ltd comprises the traditional inland boat M/S Ukko, as well as the modern boats M/S Queen R and M/S Princess Anne, the latter operating charter cruises. Cruises with a traditional inland boat M/S Puijo are operated by Lakeland Cruises Ltd / Saimaan Laivamatkat. M/S Puijo sails along scenic waterways from Kuopio to Savonlinna via Heinävesi. Scheduled service through beautiful canals. Koski-Laiva cruises take place on M/S Koski, an impressive representative of the traditional white boats of Saimaa, and the M/S Osmo, a dry-cargo boat from the early 20th century and now fully-restored and converted into a cruise boat, yet preserving is original appearance. Other boats of Koski-Laiva are M/S Salmetar and M/S Pujo.
